Mrs. Kelly Burgess
My name is Kelly Burgess. I married my high school sweetheart in May 2001. We have 2 beautiful and amazing children. Our son, Garrison, plays football and does track for Sulphur High. Our daughter, Gracie, plays recreation soccer, basketball, and softball for SPAR. We have 3 weenie dogs, Scooter Nathan, Dash Dash, and Baby James. They are full of personality and super sweet and are very much a part of our family. We love to travel. Disney World is our favorite destination.
As of January 3, 2021, I have been teaching for 21 years. My first 15 years of teaching were lovingly spent in kindergarten. I loved every moment of it. Seven years ago, I was given the opportunity to teach Early Childhood Autism. I was more than excited to take on the challenge of teaching something completely unfamiliar and go back to college for my Early Intervention certification. So, at 37 years old I was back in college, working full time, and a mom and wife. The past 3 years, I have been teaching the Reverse Mainstream Pre-K class. Teaching is my passion, my joy, and my heart. My students are my babies, and now some of my first students have children of their own. I have “grand-babies” who are starting school, a couple whom I have had the joy of teaching. If my health allows me to, I plan to teach for 19 more years. I want to make 40 years!
